Did you know?
According to the National Institute of Health, employees are sleeping less than six hours a night on average, a primary factor in clinical burnout. Six hours might be enough sleep for some, but it isn’t for others. It is believed that technology plays a key role in this sleep loss, with employees having the ability to be "on" 24/7.
Success is found in being rested physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, and it is a quality that you should seek out on a daily basis. Make rest and relaxation a habit by:
- Reducing the time you spend in front of the TV
- Going to bed earlier - even if you just lay and read a book
- Leaving mobile devices outside the bedroom
Start cultivating rest by taking a single step at a time. Could you go to bed a half hour earlier? Move your phone out of your bedroom? Leave your desk at lunchtime and go for a brisk walk? Avoid checking your emails over the weekend?
What step will you take?
