A recent Australian survey has found that many Australians simply aren't motivated to work on their health - this is particularly alarming given that 80% of lifestyle diseases (heart disease, diabetes and some cancers) can be prevented by maintaining a healthy lifestyle! While there is no magic pill, it can be as simple as eating well and exercising regularly. Yet, so many people cite lack of time as the biggest barrier to living a healthy lifestyle. It doesn't have to be this way! Try these simple tips to help you be more active each day & eating well:

  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator
  • Park further away or get off a stop earlier
  • Instead of paying someone to do your housework or gardening - crank some music & get started
  • Do lunges, calf raises and squats while brushing your teeth
  • Do 10 push ups before you jump in the shower
  • Add more vegetables to your diet by making a vegetable-packed omelette for breakfast,  or increase your fruit intake by making a delicious fruit smoothie
  • Keep your work and home fruit bowls well-stocked so you have a healthy go-to snack
  • Add extra vegetables to sauces and soups
