It's Friday. We get it. You want to enjoy a nice ice, cold beverage (or 3 or 4). In fact, research tells us that a whopping 80.5% of the Australian population do!

Here is a few things to consider while you sip on those long-awaited drinks:

  • Your blood pressure increases with every standard drink you consume
  • Drinking excess alcohol can weaken your heart muscles making it more difficult to pump blood effectively
  • Alcohol is full of calories, so with every drink that's extra calories. Be mindful of that if you're watching your waistline!
  • Drinking can make you snore loudly and need to get up to hit the toilet several times during the night, leading to very disruptive sleep
