By enlisting the services of Health by Design this rubbish removal company has achieved the following great results so far this year among 90 employees across 6 different work sites:

  • 85% voluntary average monthly engagement (well above industry averages)
  • 38% making risk range changes (ie. moving from high risk blood pressure to low or medium risk)

This ongoing health program has been successful in terms of providing a range of health and injury prevention solutions, specific to the needs of the client. It includes: health promotion material, Healthy Heart Screens, health and injury prevention coaching, interactive tools and displays. 

As a result of their tailored workplace health program, 49% of employees are making at least one behaviour change relating to their main risk area. This behaviour change represents an employee making a positive, sustained improvement to their health, wellbeing or injury prevention focus area.

Here is a selection of some of the more significant individual positive behaviour changes achieved so far during 2017.

  • One employee has increased his amount of exercise to 5 high intensity workouts per week and has limited his alcohol intake to only 1-2 nights per week. In addition to this, he is making an effort to eat better. So far he has dropped 10cm around his waist as a result! 

  • Another employee has reduced alcohol intake to only weekends. He has also begun adding vegetables into his diet every day and is exercising more frequently. He has now dropped his cholesterol from increased to low risk!
