Did you know?

It is believed that over half of all people with a mental illness also had a physical health condition (such as back or neck pain/problems, asthma or heart trouble).

Getting active is key.
Physical activity helps you control your weight, strengthen your heart and manage your stress levels. A strong heart and general emotional health are all good for your blood pressure.

Ways to get active:

  • Physical exercise such as walking, swimming, dancing, playing golf or going to the gym can relieve the tension in your muscles, relax your mind and distract you from negative thoughts and worries.
  • Make it social. Walk with family or friends and strengthen relationships at the same time.
  • Try to do some physical exercise every day, even if it's just going for a walk.
  • Make it simple and enjoyable.
